A trip to Tahiti

I hvae 7 days in Tahiti later this year (that I won!) and the accomodation is all on papeete - it looks fantastic but wondering about practicalities of seeing another part as well and the costs, timings involved...any advice out there?

You can easily take the ferry over to Moorea.

Accomodation on pappete is expensive and way over priced, go to moorea on the ferry and stop in a beach house at moorea camping or chez nelson.

Its a nice beach with good snorkeling with shops and restaurants nearby, its not expensive either.

If Air NZ still went there I would have been back again this year, Pity.

You can go via Air New Zealand, they codeshare with Air Tahiti Nui for the LAX - PPT segment. I called ANZ to inquire about flying LAX-PPT-Auckland-Tonga-LAX and they said I could book that with them (the LAX-PPT segment would be on ATN.)
