We were wondering what the cheapest (non-tour?) way of getting from Luganville to Lonnoc Beach Bungalows would be? We're actually staying at Turtle Bay prior to heading to Lonnoc. Also the Vil Vil custom tour looks tacky/contrived compared to what we saw in Tanna. Is there a more authentic village in the north or elsewhere?Have the quad bike tours started up in Santo yet (my teenage son is asking!)?? And has the dengue fever hit Santo yet? I have superb memories of Santo - and would love to climb the volcano on Ambae. If anyone's done that I'd love to hear about it - and where the best accommodation for that would be, The Ambrym climb is out of this world!

There are lots of traditional villages in the interior of Santo. LOTS! They are quite different from those on Tanna though. And tourism to them is far less organized than in Tanna. If you are not a DIY type, guides from Lugainville can take you to one.
