Affordable Lodging American Samoa - - Week-long or Month-longCountry forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea
Greetings everyone. It looks like I am going to be in American Samoa for about 4-5 weeks at the beginning of 2014 and I was preemptively looking at possible places to stay for my +/- month there. However, it looks like everything that is mentioned online is more of a hotel format....and from most of the things that I've read, home rentals are kind of "known about" or posted locally - and not too much online. And, a hotel isn't going to cut if for me for a month due to budgetary restrictions, etc.... Can anyone give me any sort of recommendation of what I should do. Should I book a hotel perhaps for the first few days and scout out a place for the rest of the month to rent? I've heard you can rent a house for $500(ish) / month? Anyone who has ever been to American Samoa / stayed there for a few weeks or more - the information you could provide would be amazingly helpful. Thank you again for your time for reading this :-)
Tisa's is a good budget option, which was $50/night including breakfast. Wouldn't be a bad place to spend the first few nights, and Tisa & Candyman are well connected on the island and could probably put you onto some leads for longer-term accommodation. | 1
Thanks for the input....yes, it seems like it may be best to have a plan for the first few days, and then try to find some accommodations for the next 3 weeks after I land? Unfortunately, looks like it will be difficult to arrange it in advance from the mainland USA...... -MS | 2
