Any ideas on June/July vacation in the South Pacifiic?

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea

We are a couple from San Francisco looking for a really relaxing, romantic beach vacation where we can just lounge on a quiet, peaceful beach for 10 days to 2 weeks sometime in June and July. We want to stay in a place that is walking distance to a beautiful beach with a kitchen being a huge plus. We have been to Palau, Fiji, Saipan, Tinian, Guam, Hawaii, New Zealand, and Australia, so we wanted to try something new. We know the South Pacific can be really expensive, so we hope there is something out there that won't be too costly and yet will be very beautiful and laid back.

We would love any feedback and ideas. Thank you!

There are lots of beautiful places in Solomon Islands.
Maravagi (Florida Islands, Central Province) is easy to access from Honiara, but you are limited to what you bring with you, or rather expensive catered meals (no kitchen).
There are numerous resorts in Western Province - I haven't stayed at any of them, as I usually stay with local friends, so haven't first-hand experience of resorts.
Are you into surfing, or just swimming and snorkelling?

if you choose a destination in Polynesia the podcasts will provide a nice educational background which will make your stay much more enjoyable.

They are free to upload or just listen to on your computer. In many of the islands you can rent a beach house (shack on a beach) that might suite your needs just fine.

Happy (adventure) travels
