any recommendations on wireless internet sources?

greetings!

i am travelling to rarotonga and aitutaki for holiday but, unfortunately, must have occasional access to a wireless internet signal to check work-related email.

can anyone inform me of places where i might pick up a free signal OR if there are internet cafe's around the islands, please give me the names of such places.

i'm not staying at any of the upper end hotels to use their business center so that's out.

your help is greatly appreciated.

Rarotonga has eight wifi locations scattered around the island. Unfortunately none of these are free. You will need to buy an access card available at the hotels or businesses. Some of the locations are the Telecom building in Avarua. The Arport, The Port Authority Office, Pacific Resort, Muri Beach Club Resort, Aroa;s Beachside Resort, Rarotongan Hotel and Edgewater Resort. You do not have to be staying at the lodging to use the service, you can sit in the bar or restaurant and hook up with your laptop. Access cards costs are NZ$20, NX$36, NZ$50, depending on your needs. If you are uploading pictures, etc. you will need the more expensive cards, if you are only e-mailing the less expensive cards are fine.

Any ideas about wifi on Aitutaki?

No such animal as wifi on Aitutaki for public. Possibly Pacific Resort Aitutaki has an in house wifi (they have it on Rarotonga, but quite expensive). There is a cyber cafe between Rino's and Pacific Resort on the road between the airport and Arutanga. Left hand side of the road small store with very slow dial up service.
