Anyone been to PukaPukaCountry forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea
If so, what are your thoughts and observations...would like to go there on my trip to the Cook Islands. Hints on getting there, staying there, eating there and leaving there.
Very few tourists have been there. No flights, except those chartered by the govt, etc. Boat goes maybe once a month, usually even less often. A few yachties visit each year. So, you probably won't be able to go there, unless you are planning to stay in the Cooks for a few months. i know a lot of Pukapukans who live on Rarotonga. Very friendly. English is not spoken much on Pukapuka, and Pukapukan is more like Samoan than Rarotongan. Three villages, nice lagoon, etc. Check out www.ck for basic info. But you probably won't be able to make it without a lot of effort and time. | 1
