Anyone else having trouble replying????Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea
Well, I have tried for a couple of days to answer some Q's, but there is no "Reply" box below the other replies when I click on the post. I hit the "reply to this thread" link, but end up back at the log-in with my password screen, and it just keeps going round and round and round like that!!! Great TT4!!! Any suggestions on how to reply???
I just put my reply in the 'quick reply' box under the post and click on 'post message' under the box. This is the only way I have posted replies and so far-so good! I don't ever recall not seeing a 'quick reply' box under a post. Maybe someone else will have better answer for you. | 1
I decided to try clicking on "reply to this thread" to see what happens. Hopefully when I hit 'Post message' it will work. If it does then maybe the system was out of wack when you were trying to use it. | 2
Yes, that box does NOT show up half the time!!! and then I hit the "reply to this thread" link and the merry-go-round starts up!! Well, this time the box showed up. | 3
You sure your not getting senile on us Raro? I get a quick reply every time, maybe it's a browser thing, somebody call up Bill Gates!!! Papa Mike | 4
I found that the site was logging me out every time I left the computer for half an hour until I ticked the "remember me" box. Then I would have to log in again to reply. | 5
I just found the following on the OZ/NZ branch: No real point having a big whinge here Captain - perhaps take it to Report a Bug. They could post a message if the Sign In is not working, but I expect the LP IT people said it was fixable in a couple of hours, as it has proved to be, so just wait for it to come back. As for the blackout yesterday (and Sunday) - no point posting a message because it wasn't loadable anyway. They had quite a crash yesterday - Lonely Planet, not just Thorntree. Patience and understanding are fine virtues. | 6
You'd think they'd have been able to work out most of the bugs of a new site design off-line, and then give us a new package all in one go. | 7
The TT kept pestering me that I had "unanswered" Q's out there---it said I had 9 of them! I only had one. now hopefully I have none. and I'll never mark a Q as a Q, all it leads to is TT pertering me whenever I log in. One would have thought the bugs would be gone by now. Now, at the top, I choose list by " last replied", not "by recently posted", or whatever it is. Then I answer, hit the "back to thread list" or whatever, and it forgets that I want to go to recently replied, NOT recently posted, so it sends me to recently posted!!! The people running this are truly incompetent for such a big project. | 8
Don't know that they are incompetent but could just be the workload and numbers they have to fix teething probs. - TT is running extra slow for me now too. | 9
Gee, thank you for the Green Star, Raro, though I think the original poster on the "other" Pacific branch deserves it. | 10
If it were up to me I give a green star to anyone who even tried to answer a Q! [except for facetious/stupid answers]. To everyone reading this, you are hereby awarded the "Croix de Raro" whenever you sincerely try to answer any Q on this TT. Congratulations!! But please try to NOT mark a query as a "question", it just makes us feel dumb/annoyed when we do answer it and you don't give us that green star. Let's share info, but not play this new TT4 green star game. Well, that's my suggestion..... | 11
Well, in m y above reply I put the phrase "except for facetious/stupid answers" in brackets, and the TT crossed it out instead of bracketing it!!! Now they are starting their own grammar/symbolism as well!!! yes, not enough programmers. It's the bosses who are idiots. | 12
Interesting - I wondered how things got crossed out like that. | 13
