anyone traveling to French Polynesia from the NYC tri-state region?

Wanted to see if anyone out there has a need for French Polynesian francs. Got stuck with about $350usd worth of french polynesian francs after traveling to Tahiti and outlying islands on our honeymoon and forgetting to exchange it before we left. Have tried my bank here (HSBC which uses AMEX currency exchange services) but they don't change French Polynesian francs.

Anyone taking a trip to the French Polynesia soon and want to exchange for USD (or any currency that I can change here in NYC)? Willing to take a small loss on the exchange. PM me direct if interested.

If you have not already done so you should also post this on the FP forum at www.tripadvisor.com and the forum at www.tahiti-explorer.com - the later used to have a number of regulars from the NY area. If you can't find someone to take it off your hands just hang on to it and look into a future trip to New Caledonia where the PFC is also the local currency!

we had no problem exchanging into US$ when we got home at one of the malls that foreign exchange shop. im sure NYC has one of those Thomas Cook shops

drgreenthumb - do you remember which foreign exchange shop you went to (and where)? my bank (hsbc) as well as some other banks (capone, chase) weren't able to do it.
