Anywhere nice to stay on route from Nadi to Suva?

I'm travelling to (Suva) Fiji for a work trip & plan to take my wife & 4mth old.

We're arriving and flying out of Nadi. I've been there before so I am wondering if there are any worthwhile places to visit/stay on my way to Suva.

I'm interested in something that would cost less than US$120 p night in total. Beach side would be nice, otherwise countyside is also OK. Somewhere with air conditioning would be good for the little one.

Or are we better just staying a few days in Nadi before heading to Suva?

There are LOTS of beach hotels along tha route which would suit you.

All are nicer than Nadi itself, but none has a location that is is even nearly as nice as the Mamanuca islands that are just in front of Nadi. If you have a beach in mind, I suggest that you hop over to one of the islands from Nadi - again, there are many to choose from. If you have a "few days", this is worth doing.

The advantage of the Coral Coast (as the area between Nadi and Suva is known) is that you could do more "exploring", and if that appeals, choose somewhere around Sigatoka, as that area has the most sights.
