are there any direct flights from london to rarotonga?

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea

as the title says

Heathrow to LAX, then change planes (after going out of US Immigration and Customs, and back through it again) and from April onwards there are non-stops LAX to RAR. Currently those flights stop in Tahiti for 1.5 hours.

Ah...is that really considered a direct flight from London? Raro- you been in the islands tooooo long.

2

yeh i gathered however that those flights are heavily booked at the mo, so is the only other option to go to auckland and back to RAR?

Waldos---
Well, if you'ver been reading SeanPF's Q's, you'll see that he probably meant "How do I get to the Cooks from London?"

Sean---Who told you they were heavily booked at the moment? And what moment are you coming? It's pretty ridiculous to fly 13 hours from LAX to AKL, wait a few hours or more at AKL, then fly 4 hours from AKL to RAR, when you can just fly from LAX to RAR in about 9 hours as of April.

Haven't been, so I will take your word for it. Just gave me a bit of a laugh.

5

the reason is that
The flights from LAX-RAR are on 20th may and 27th may etc
AIR NZ fly Rarotonga-Nadi on 1st june

so this means i either spend 4 days in the cook islands or 11 days
now 11 days appears too much, and 4 days not enough
i was aiming for 7 days
