Arriving in Fiji Tuesday

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea

Hi everyone

I have a 10 day trip about to start in Fiji. I arrive on Tuesday and have decided to split the trip between Beachcombers and Mantaray. Beach, party and scuba diving.

Does anyone know if they are busy at the moment and should I book in advance or just do it from the Ferry?

Also I land at 2pm in Nadi. Does anyone have a recommendation to spend my first night and whether they do airport transfers.

Thanks for your advise.

Since you seem to be looking for a social atmosphere, Smugglers Cove in Nadi is a good bet. Aquarius is also ok. The nicest and quietest option is Bluewater Lodge.

Don't know about Beachcomber, but I'd recommend reserving Manta Ray since it often fills up. If you wait you may have to spend one or two days elsewhere. Two or three nights is usually good at each resort, so you may want to consider adding one or two more islands into your 10 days. That said, if partying and scuba are your only priorities, you've chosen the best.

For the first night, I suggest staying at the http://www.rafflesgateway.com/

I think tat they do have transfers/pickup but no need for this as they are just opposite the airport - about 200m walk from the terminal.

If you know when and where you want to stay you should book in advance - at least a couple of days in advance. Beachcomber and Mantaray are pretty popular and will be the first to be booked out, and you may have to stay at your second choice for a couple of days until they have a free bed.

All the Nadi options above are good and all do airport transfers and are stops for the bus to the ferry.
