Australia - Fiji - Japan - Thailand - Need Advice on flightsCountry forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea
Hi, Me and my girlfriend are going to Australia in September and I can't wait! Been planning alot and have decided to fly to Carins buy a van and drive down to Sydney for new years. This is the first leg of our marthaon travelling plans. After spending a year traveling and working in Australia we have decided to visit a number of other destinations. 1st. Fiji (Nadi) Since we have our austrlian visa's and after doing a shed load of research i have the first year covered. Now what i need help with is mainly flights between the countries..
Once we get to thialand im pretty sure we can navigate around using trains etc to other countries. Basically.. Do Fiji do cheap flights to Japan or should we Fly from Australia.. If anyone knows any cheap airlines out there or has done something similar please let me know of any information/advice on linking flights or anything you feel could help us. Thank You. Michael
Have a look at airtreks.com - they have a feature (trip planning) where you can put in the countries/cities you want to visit and they will give you a routing and approximate cost. You can rearrange the order to see if you can get a cheaper price or talk to an agent who will help you with the planning. Another site to check is whichbudget.com - it has links to the budget airlines that you won't find on travelocity/expedia etc. I am not sure if Fiji is included as it is mostly geared to Asia but it might be good for planning the Thailand onwards part of your trip. Hope this helps! | 1
You could fly Pacific Blue from various places in AU to Fiji, then from Fiji to Brisbane, then Jetstar from Gold Coast to Tokyo. Few budget airlines go to Japan (Jetstar is in fact the only one to Tokyo!) - it is simply not exactly a "budget" destination! From Osaka, you could fly Cebu Pacific to Manila and on to Bangkok, but that's the one budget airline I just can't really recommend normally. In my experience the airtreks.com website gives ridiculously high prices for multistop itineraries, and these are best put together yourself if cost is an issue. | 2
