AUSTRALIANS LIVING IN CHRISTCHURCH

I am totally confused if I am doing the right thing. I am over living in this expensive, crazy, busy city and am looking to move my young family to Christchurch? Are there any Sydneysider's living in Christchurch or other parts of the South Island that may be able to tell me what it is like living in NZ thanks
