Backpacken PNG

Dear All,

I have a few questions:

I have a ticket (Mid Dec./ Mid Jan ) to Singapore, and i will get a ticket via the website to PNG with Air Niugi
But THEN?????????

*can i just go there and book trips and local busses from there...
or do i need to book via travel agency.

*How expencive is it to arrange it your self,

*do people speak english there

*and how is the weather there in Dec / Jan

*Do i need to bring a tent, or can i just stay in hotels and geusthouses etc etc

You could arrange everything on the spot.

Certainly much less so than to go with a tour operator!

Yes, surprisingly many of them, and surprisingly well.

Hot and humid! :-) Cooler in the Highlands, of course.

Really no need for a tent unless you want to hike way off the beaten track. Even in villages whivh have no guesthouses, someone will put you up - do pay!
