How does Palau compare in beauty to the Cooks (I could visit some new islands in French Polynesia which I'm sure will be as stunning)? I imagine the Rock Islands are incredible but even if I arrange for a canoe trip of several days what is it like once I'm back on land? Everywhere I walked in the Cooks it was amazing just to look at the scenery. I could sit outside or walk along the beach. I know there are no beaches on Koror (except for the PPR where I won't be staying). Is there anywhere beautiful and outdoors to go on land for a long walk (5 to 20 miles). (I enjoyed walking alongside the road in Rarotonga.)
Is Palau somewhere where you would go for a shorter visit (2 weeks vs. say 6 weeks) if most of the beauty is offshore? Is Kayangel very beautiful? Peleliu?
