Best beach in Yasawa?

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea

Hi all,

I'm going to Fiji in feb next year. I'm only there for 5 nights and 5 full days, as my flight lands in the evening so will have to wait til next morning to catch the yasawa flyer. I've been reading lots of posts and reviews but still find lots of conflicting opinions.. I'd love to visit a proper white sand beach for a totally chilled out snorkle and hammock lying session. But would also like to go to an island where theres a bit more of a party atmosphere (beachcomber maybe?). I thought Manta Ray would be a good option for a nice beach and good snorkling but I have just read a review from somebody who said the beach was actually quite rocky and not that great?

Any itinerary suggestions pleeease :)

Mnata Ray is lovely and great for snorkelling esp to come up close to Mantas. The beach is much better at nearby Octopus Resort (near is a 40 min boat ride). Better beach still at Oarsman Bay. That said , none of those places are "party places" like Beachcomber.Maybe split your time over Beachcomber and Manta or Octopus?

Oarsman's Bay Lodge has most probably the best beach in Fiji, white sands and crystal clear water, really postcard type of stuff. Snorkelling is good and you can lie in a hammock all day.

There are snorkel trips to the Blue Lagoon, Turtle Island by a small boat. But I found this disappointing as the coral had been bleached, however this was many years ago and the coral may have recovered by now?

Not really a party place.. but I came across many interesting folk, honeymoon couples, solo travellers etc. and like anywhere if you happen to find a good bunch of people you'll have a great time.
