Best diving in October/November

Hi there,
We are thinking about taking a week off to go diving in the Pacific. In the last few years have dived various locations in NZ and Australia, Vanuatu and the Cooks; Sipidan was great a couple of years back but too far away to repeat for our brief time to play. So now looking for somewhere different but not too far from home (NZ), any suggestions would be wonderful.

Fiji has good diving, check out outer islands like Kadavu, and around Savusavu (Vanua Levu), and Taveuni.

Thanks Raro. Do you know if any of the companies running those dive spots and the associated accommodations are directly benefiting the local people (or indigenously operated) i.e. more than just paying very basic wages for a few people to clean up after us and guide us through the dives?

Solomon Islands is a highly regarded dive destination, but you would have to get there via Brisbane or Nadi.

Here is a link to one possibility ... located on Vanua Levu but more easily accessed from Taveuni (airport at Matei), with easier/quicker access to Rainbow reef.
