Best Island

Hi
If you had to pick an Island, which one would you recommend?

Would you recommend Plantation Island ?

Im planning on going to Fiji in mid Dec.

Any replies would be appreciated.

check out matangi island resort. a wonderful place for 20 somethings or 60 somethings for that matter. i really loved the place and are planning to return soon.

the resort's bures (huts) are beautiful and some are even treehouse situated! we're divers but there were quite a few honeymooners who were non-divers and they thoroughly enjoyed the resort and the island. google "matangi island resort" and it will bring up their website. the homepage of the site shows a stunning arial view photo of the island.......that alone would send me there!

Do not go to Plantation Island unless you want to be surrounded by small children! It is a FAMILY budget resort. The tide goes way out in the afternoon so there is no beach. The accomodations are definately budget...the food was lousy and there were little kids everywhere. If you want a family enviornment then Plantation Island is for you.

I have never been to Plantation so I can't help with an opinion on it. But I AM sceptical about taking the advice of someone who can state:

LOL!!!

Tides change every day! Every 6 hrs and 10 minutes or so, from low tide to high tide and then back 6:10 (or so) thereafter. So, you'll still be able to swim in either the moning or the afternoon, but maybe not both.
I guess maybe when #2 was there it was low tide in the afternoon that week.
