best place for sea kayaking/camping trip

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea

Last year we went to Palau and spend a few days kayaking/camping. It was great especially because it was without a guide/group but everything was really well arranged. We are not very athletic but it was extremely doable and we got good maps/equipment. Also the camping sites were beautiful. We organized this through Planet Blue (Sam's Tours) and I'd highly recommend them.

Now we'd like to do something similar somewhere else in the pacific but I was wondering if this was possible. Does anyone have good experiences? What is the best place for a kayak/camping getaway?

Thanks!
Chris

Vavau in Tonga is one place where this is popular, though the scenery there is probably less impressive than in Palau.

The Raja Ampat Islands in West Papua would have to be among the most exciting places to do this, but it would have to be a DIY affair.
