best place for work visa in 2011?

Solo female traveler, wanting to get out of canada for a year! Looking for somewhere warmer for august on a work visa! any ideas?

Northern Australia with a WHV. Most Pacific islands countries don't give Visas to expats unless they have skills in short supply locally (teachers, doctors etc) and even then you would only be paid a local salary. You would need an offer of work as well. Otherwise you would need to invest money in the country.

It's quite easy to get an Australian work/travel visa.. and since there are loads of backpackers/tourists, you'll meet oodles of people too!
I'll be doing the same thing for our winter, their summer!
