budget acommodation do you need to book in advance COOK ISLANDS

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea

Hi,
I have never visited the cook islands. I have travelled extensively through SEA and i like the freedom of not booking in advance showing up somewhere and looking around before I decide where I would like to stay. I know this isnt the way in all parts of the world. Do I need to book in advance? It will be Aussie school holidays when I visit (if this make any difference?) Thanks :)

Just book the first night to show customs you have a place to stay. Then shop around your first day and pick a spot.

Thank H2ooh. I wasn't sure if there was a wide variety of accommodation options.

There's a ton on Raro and enough on Aitutaki to give you a choice. The rest of the readily acessible Southern Group, Mangaia, Mitiaro, Mauke and Atiu almost always have some place to stay.
