My wife and I are planning a multi-country trip, and will finish with 5 days of relaxation in Fiji (after hitting Africa, Asia, Australia and New Zealand hardcore). Does anyone know of any beachside (preferably over-the-water) bungalows at reasonable rates anywhere on the islands?
Hey Joey, Likuliku really is the only resort with overwater bungalows in Fiji right now. And I wouldn't say they are reasonably priced. There are some amazing beach bungalows throughout the 330 islands that form Fiji. What price are you looking to spend? You will probably want to stay around the Mamanuca or Yasawa islands since they are an easy boat ride away and have the best beaches. Castaway, Navutu Stars, and Lomani as nice resorts in these areas. They have specials which may fit in your budget and are perfect for winding down before heading home. Enjoy!!! | 1
Thanks for the reply, captain. Honestly, we'll be arriving after four months abroad, so it will really depend on how much money we have left. We would anticipate the equivalent of about US$150 per night, though we may even do just a couple nights right on the water, then a couple more nights in regular digs. | 2
Definitely look at the Mamanuca and Yasawa Islands. If you stay on the main island, many of the resorts are not the Fijian experience that you are probably envisioning. But if you are not finding resorts that you can afford in these areas, check Sonaisali or First Landing as they are on the main island close to Nadi but are more "Fijian" than some of the others. Let me know where you are thinking of staying after you research these places and I'll give you my opinion. How long is your entire trip. What countries and areas are you going to in Africa, Asia, and Australia? | 3
