Cook Islands with infant

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea

hi,
we are hoping to travel to cook islands in july/aug.
firstly is this a good time and secondly would the atui island be suitable to take a 10 month old infant
i am not really interested in the aitiaki due to the expense and mosquitos
can anyone recommend some places to stay
thanks

July or August will be fine for visiting the Cook Islands, it's beyond cyclone season and the weather should be quite pleasent if on the warm side. Atiu Island is suitable for a 10 month old infant. Some Cook Islands lodgings have restrictions on children under 12, but doubt that any on Atiu limit infants. I would contact Roger Malcomb over at Atiu Villas, and see what he can offer, if he can't take you, he could tell you who will accept infants. [http://atiuvillas.com]

You may wan't to reconsider Aitutaki, vacancy is high and rates on the island are negotiable, contact lodgings by E-Mail for special rates. Air Rarotonga has a special air fare for Rarotonga/Atiu/Aitutaki package, that allows you to travel to Aiutaki and Atiu without returning to Rarotonga.
