Day Trips from Denarau-Bounty Island? Castaway Island?

We are going to Denarau for 2 weeks over xmas. We would like to take day trips since from what I have read the beaches are useless on Denarau. Which islands are easy to get to and have the "Fiji feel"?

South Sea Island is a quick trip. It is a tiny island.. you can swim around the whole thing. I recommend the full day trip. They serve a fabulous lunch, there are hammocks, loungers, and even a pool. They also have a submarine that you can go in to see the reef. Snorkeling is amazing!! A little piece of paradise. Not to be missed.
We also did the scooner trip to Castaway Island.... this was the highlight of our trip. Simply amazing and worth every penny. Highly recommended. Didn't stop on Bounty, but it looks like a lot of fun as well.
