Destination ideas please

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea

Hi there everyone,

I'm going to be in Vancouver at the end of February next year and want to stop off for a week somewhere warm and interesting on my way back to Aus.

Any suggestions would be hugely appreciated.

I have already spent two years in Outer islands Kiribati... so not there again, maybe somewhere different, perhaps with vegetables!

Thanks

Hawaii? I think that the plane flights might determine where you go- I think that you can get from the west coast to Fiji then on to Aus. Of course there is Victoria Island- but I suspect that isn't what you had in mind.

Well, Fiji certainly has the veggies thanks to a large Indian, and a smaller but industrious Chinese population.
Along with Hawaii and Tahiti, it also happens to be the easiest place to visit as a stopover between North America and Australia.
All three of these have large(r), mountainous islands, so should be different enough from Kiribati.
