europe to Asia by land and sea to finally get to the Pacific

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea

Hi travellers,

I'm deliberating between Solomon Islands, Samoa and Cook Islands. I like adventure so for me, the less touristy the place the better and when I travel, I'm mostly after culture, tradition and beautiful landscapes. As I am from Europe, I will be going a long way and for a long time I've had this dream of crossing from Europe till Asia without flying, using any kind of transport that comes along except from anything that flies :-). Did anyone on here ever try this before? Is it very hard to pursue when on a budget?

Thanking you all

The Solomons are easily the least touristy of the 3 Pacific nations you picked.
They would also be the easiest to reach overland, via PNG.
It is not too hard to travel overland all the way from Europe, but of course takes a long time.

I've travelled from Sydney to London without flying.

As laszlo says,,it is not particularly hard. You just need plenty of time, some money and a lot of patience ;-)
