Exchange Rate at Nadi Airport, Fiji

Hi All,

I was hoping someone would be kind enough to let me know the exchange rate for the Australian dollar to the Tongan Pa' anga at the airport.

As you say, Nadi is in Fiji - so there are rates from Australian Dollar to Fijian Dollar and then from Fijiian Dollar to Tongan Pa'anga. And two times paying the fee. There are no rates from one foreign currency to another foreign currency.

This will always be worse than the exchange rates either in Australia or Tonga. Usually you should get the best deal in Tonga as the banks there will be more interested in getting AUD than the Australian banks to buy Pa'anga.

Good question I'd also like an answer for, or to be more ellaborate: does it make any sense exchanging currency at the airport or is it better to wait for my hotel transfer, take a nap and THEN go to a bank in Nadi and get it exchanged there?
I know using bank cards is cheaper, but I have some USD cash leftover that I prefer to use up first, and just then start using my bank cards. Thanks
