Feb march itinerary advice for PNGCountry forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea
I'm looking to head to PNG in feb thru march for 3-5 weeks. Has anyone toured around during these months that might have some advice? I know there is too much to fit into one trip and that I will be back if I like it as much as I expect to. Just looking for advice on getting an overview of the country given the weather these months and what might be better off saving for the next trip. And then I'll try and piece together some type of itinerary that is reasonable allowing for infrastructure, weather and not rushing too much to be able to soak things in. I figure I'll have to take a couple flights and have budgeted accordingly but happy enough to rough it as far as accommodation or transport. Spent the last few months on public transit in Madagascar so broken into rough roads on overpacked minivans. Diving, birds of paradise, Ww2 wrecks / artifacts, hiking Art and cultures are all of interest so pretty wide open. Most birding sites I looked up don't list these months at all due to weather. If anyone else will be about in this time happy to consider joining up if plans can mesh.
