Hi All, Me and my family are off to Fiji this July and plan to go island hopping through Mamanuca & Yasawa islands. Although we have planned our first few nights accommodation for a quick respite when we get there, we were hoping to book the rest en-route. Is this fairly easy to do, or would we be wise to book in advance? My understanding is dorm rooms are fairly easy to find, but what about private Bures (we have two children and our not so keen on sharing with strangers for that reason)? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Many thanks Chris
If you are wanting to stay at some of the nicer resorts (Octopus, Blue Lagoon, etc.) then you should book them well in advance. Private bures are definitely harder to come by last-minute than a dorm bed, and travelling as a family will just further complicate matters. If this trip coincides with the Australia/NZ school break, then I'd be booking it all in advance. Reviews on tripadvisor are the best way to figure out where you should go/stay. 2-4 days is generally a good length of time to spend at any one place before moving on. | 1
I think for families, look to the Mamanucas. They seem to cater more to children. | 2
