Fiji . . .And?

We have just returned from a trip to the Cook Islands, visiting Raro and the beautiful Aitutaki. We have previously been to Fiji but only Nadi. We have seen some decent priced flights from Europe to Fiji over Christmas and are thinking of returning back to Fiji, but explore some of the smaller islands. I'm also wondering what other Pacific islands are possible to explore (and generally are the most reasonably priced air fare). The flights from Auckland to Rarotonga/Aitutaki cost almost as much as our return flight from England to New Zealand!

Note that fares alone are not an indication of which country is cheapest to visit.
For example Vanuatu is cheapest to fly to, but costs once there are higher than in Tonga and Samoa.
