Fiji Honeymoon

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea

We arrive in Australia from England at the beginning of August and would love to spend 5 days in Fiji.
We are looking for a smaller resort (a big Hilton style hotel - that could be anywhere in the world - would be our worst nightmare)
We need somewhere that is easily accessible from Nadi - a short ferry journey if possible.

I would like to stay in a small bure on a island, where we can enjoy snorkeling, kayaking and relaxing on a lovely beach.
Our budget would be Fj$300 per night.

Can anyone recommend a resort.

Thanks very much
Nicky

I can recommed Crusoe's Retreat which is on the mainland about 2 hours drive from Nadi. They have lovely beachside bure's. It is a small secluded retreat and within your budget. We were there over New Year and it was fantastic. Haven't been to the other islands i'm afraid as they were too expensive over New Year. This resort borders a local village so you get a real feel for Fiji. No large faceless resort here. All the local villagers work in the resort so you get to know everyone really well. The beach is quite small but this is fairly typical of the mainland. The resort offers lots of free activities all included in your package.
