Fiji in February

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea

Hi Everyone,

I turn 30 in February and am trying to find a really cool place to go for it... I just found a really great deal for 7 nights in Fiji that runs through March 2010. This sounds perfect, however, I am concerned about the rainy season there. Exactly, how rainy is it? Does it down pour every day or is there an occasional rain storm? Also, El Nino is going on right now through October and they are anticipating that it may continue through 2010, which could make the seasons considerably drier... Any advice? Do you think I would get rained out on my adventure or is it worth the risk?

Thanks so much!

Karen

A lot depends on which part of Fiji you are considering. Although Fiji is a small country the weather varies considerably from one part to another. The island groups on the Western side (Mamanucas and Yasawas) are much drier, the Coral Coast and the eastern areas are more wet and humid.
