Fiji in March?

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea

I have a US-based travel agent recommending I visit Fiji in March. Based on LP and other research, it appears this is probably the worst time of year to go to Fiji. Can anyone please confirm whether or not visiting Fiji in March is a big mistake? I've heard that the Yasawas are drier than the rest of Fiji at this time of year, but given that several tour operators don't even offer packages at this time of year, I wonder if the weather really is bad.

Thanks in advance! Please don't let me waste precious time and money by visiting Fiji at the wrong time of year.

Last week would have been worse.
March is still in the end of the wet season. It could be fine, it might be wet. A cyclone is still possible too.
Right now in Lautoka (western Viti Levu) it is sunny, warm and sticky most of the day and then we get some rain and thunderstorms mid late afternoon.
Have a wander around here.... http://www.met.gov.fj/

Cheers,
Peter
