Hi All, After some helpful advice i think ive now put together my plan for Fiji in early Feb (as part of my RTW trip) 5th Feb - Stay in Nadi (Flight lands 16:00) The questions i have on this are:
Thanks | ||
Dan-altogether too much running about-it's not the Fijian (or the South Pacific) way. | 1
i know, ideally i wouldnt want to but i only have a week. I want to do Beachcomber but what other do you suggest then? | 2
Forget Beachcomber-the place has nothing to do with Fiji or Fijian life-that's why no one comments on it. I suggest finding a beach-somewhere like Pacific Harbour - and sitting on it. | 3
sorry but i want to visit the Yasawa's and Mamanucas, i dont intend to stay in Nadi other than the first night...i want to relax in paradise but also party and meet people (hence Beachcomber) | 4
Sigh. Same old "advice" from hardnosethehighway.Sitting on a beach in the Yasawas might not be your (or my) idea of a holiday in Fiji, but for people just looking for a quick break away at a comfy resort with a lovely beach where they can hang out, drink beer and snorkel thats fine. Not everyone has to go and experience "the real fiji", and going by the rabble that I see every time I fly out of Nadi I'd actually prefer that most of them leave it alone. Anyway.... Danny Boy - hardnose is right that you are rushing it. For one week I'd just pick one or two islands and stick with that. I haven't been to the Yasawas, but have the impression that transport options between the islands are pretty much limited to the Flyer or an expensive private transfer, and neither are great value for money. So to answer your questions, 1 - probably not, 2 - probably not, 3 - bula pass is probably more expensive than booking transfers direct with the resorts. | 5
" I haven't been to the Yasawas" Standard rules of dress apply as mentioned-short shorts/wifebeater shirt/sandals and stupid hat-also it's important to stagger about boisterously and shout " Oi, Oi Oi" regularly. Have a nice trip! | 6
