Flight from Nadi to Sydney. Is Air PAcific a reliable airline?

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea

Hello everyone

I am planning to spend three days in Nadi, Fiji (I know it is not enough but at least to escape for the weekend). However, I am concern about my flight back to Australia. I have a flight leaving from Sydney to LA on Monday 18th at 3:20pm. There is a flight from Nadi to Sydney at 9:45am on Monday 18th, arriving in Sydney at 12:45pm, which leaves me with only one hour to pass immigration and pick up my luggage to check into my next flight two hours before departure (1:20pm). Although tight, it is doable if the airline is punctual. But I have no idea about Air Pacific and I checked online, and it wasnt very helpful

Do you think I would be ok to take this flight from Nadi to Sydney in the morning with Air PAcific and catch without a problem my next international flight from Sydney to LAX at 3:20pm?

I could take a flight on Sunday at 6pm, but it cut off the day, so with even less time in Nadi. I was looking forward to at least have two full days: one for day trip to the Mamanuca islands and another day to go Navua River Village Safari.

I would very much appreciate your help and insight in this regard.

Thank you

Mdz

I found Air Pacific very reliable, but I would NOT plan to make a 1 hour connection with ANY airline!

1

Allowing only 1 hour on ANY international connection is lunacy and ASKING for trouble - dont do it.

2

BTW Air Pacific is very reliable. If you booked Qantas , the other major airline on that route, you'd find that they code-share anyhow

Sydney airport is crazy, and planes are always getting delayed even trying to land. You need a full 2 hours there, probably even 3. The problem is not the airling but the airport.

Thank you guys. I was giving it a lot of thought and it would be too stressful and risky even if there are not delays. So I am booking the ht back the day before. It is good to know Air Pacific is reliable. Once again, thanks for your replies. All the best
