Flights and Accomodation to Neiafu (Vava'u Group)

Hi all

I'm planning to meet a friend sailing from Mexico to Brisbane in Neiafu in late May. There are some good flights from Virgin Pacific Blue to Tongatapu from Brisbane at this time but I am unsure of the best way to get to (fly) Neiafu from Tongatapu. Any current advice would be greatly appreciated. Also any recommendations for places to stay in Neiafu (budget - moderate) would be great.

Tongan domestic air transport is a shambles at best, planes are cancelled without warning, are chronically late or-wait for it-leave early(!)

Email Teta Tours they can sell you a ticket for Airlines Tonga which flies to Vava'u from the domestic terminal-which is close to the international terminal but too far to walk unless you have a lot of time and enjoy hiking in tropical heat.

Adventure Backpackers in downtown Neiafu is fine for your purposes.
