Flights to Marshall IslandsCountry forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea
My boyfriend and I have started planning a longer trip which will take us to Solomon Islands and Marshall Islands in February 2010. We know that Virgin Blue can take us from either Brisbane or Auckland to Honiara on Solomon Islands but we can not find any airline that can take us to Marshall Islands - except Japan Airlines and that is just way too expensive. Can you help us out here? Great thanks MissDenmark
Continental flies to the Marshall Islands and they will be way too expensive. The Solomon Islands and the Marshall Islands are a very bad combination because of the complicated, long and expensive route that you will have to travel from one place to the other. | 1
Continental flies Cairns to Guam twice a week, Monday and Friday I think. Flight on to Majuro stops in 3 or 4 places in Micronesia. It is slow and expensive although the cost seemed to drop in February. Much better to organise your time around better aIr links in one region rather than make life difficult (and costly). Fiji is the main regional hub for the South Pacific and you can link through there from (say) Solomons to Vanuatu. I spent 6 months in the Marshalls last year, it is difficult to travel from island to and there are nicer places to take a holiday than Majuro itself. Good luck. | 2
