Flights to Palau

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea

Wow...I have not looked into travel details to Palau for about a year. Now I find out the cheap tickets from the Philippines are gone! Are there any suggestions for "cheaper" travel from any destination in Asia? I am very familar with Continental....and that is why I have not gone earlier. They are quite expensive. I am open to travel from Taiwan, PI, etc. Thanks for your help!

ASFAIK, apart from Continental (whose outrageous fares are the reason I myself haven't made it to Palau this year), the only option is flying from Taiwan, and it's similarly expensive.

Sadly, there is NO cheap way of getting to Palau or the FSM any more.

I just read today that two airlines from Korea will start flights soon:

This is very important as Far Eastern Air Transport from Taiwan went bankrupt recently and suspended all their services to Palau:

It looks like any air link to Micronesia apart from Continental's just can't last.

Given the distance between Palau and Korea, I doubt the new flights will be cheap from Korea - if they happen at all!
BUT, they could be good value if starting from Europe or North America, as Korean Airlines currently offers the best fares from Europe to Fiji (at least through agents in my country), too!
