flying around Solomon islands with small aircraft

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea

Hi,
I will be in Honiara from Aug 26 to Sep 1st with my single engine aircraft, a Cessna 210, with a total of 6 seats (pilot + 5 but would prefer to have max 3 pax onboard plus me). if someone is interested in going out for a scenic flight over the islands (marovo lagoon or Malaita province) pls let me know. we can share the costs of the aircraft and enjoy some really spectacular flights. I've been flying around the Solomons already 4 times, know the area quite well. ciao, Andrea

Andrea, you are about a mpnth too early for me - I am hoping to bring a small group to the Lau Lagoon (Malaita) late September, early October.

Hi Andrea

I'll be at Uepi at that time, and might be interested in a flight - depending on costs of course. Just one problem - Seghe strip is closed for repairs after developing some nasty holes in the runway, It's supposed to be fixed by the end of this month - but with "Solomon time" the way it is, I'd not hold my breath!

The next closest strip is Ramata, a private strip, but too far for me to travel to by boat.

I'm leaving home 25 July, so can you PM me mid July if you'll be around the western province during your travels?

Are you one of the people I referred to Uepi a few years ago?

cheers
