Food on Bora Bora - Get all meals included in package???

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea

Hi,

My partner and I are visiting Bora Bora for 5-7 days in September for our honeymoon. We have had packages put together that include all meals, but they are rather expensive.

Is it possible to easily access a shop to purchase your own food anywhere on Bora Bora? Or is it better to just let the trip be catered for breakfast, lunch and dinner?

We will either stay at the Pearl Beach Resort or Le Maitai. Does anyone have any info on which provides the better stay??

Any advice/recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

We stayed at the Novotel Bora Bora Beach and had no problem with eating away from our hotel. We saved on breakfast by getting croissants and juice at a nearby store - we could also buy prepared sandwiches for lunch, or just have baguettes, cheese and fruit. We ate dinners out- a nearby pizza place had great pizzas at reasonable prices. We splurged on a couple of expensive dinners. I don't have any info on the hotels you are considering but I would suggest you check out the forum at www.tahiti-explorer.com as they have a very active, knowledgeable group. You have made a great choice for your honeymoon - I hope you have a great time!

My partner and I went last year and had purchased Accor's Advantage Plus Card which gave us 50% of all food at any of the Sofitel, Novotel and Ibis properties. We ate every night at the Sofitels beside the Novotel for 50% - good value.
I think stay away from the package and get the card or just shop around.
