French polynesia, Cooks, Maldives or Seychelles?Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea
Hi all- My husband and I are looking to travel in May/June and have hoarded airline miles for years for a special trip. We have two children (9 and 11). They have travelled many places internationally and we have chartered catamarans in the BVI's, exumas and abacos. It is a big trip and was wondering if anyone has travelled to these areas and have compared pros and cons? Beaches, underwater, culture. Thank you in advance! Meegan
First thing to consider is where are you travelling from. If NZ then the cooks is easiest to get to, then FP. The Maldives isn't a quick trip. Price wise the Cooks are cheaper than either FP or the Maldives. Scenery and quality of the beaches and resorts, all 3 give you great options. The Cooks is more 'boutique' and small scale, the big resorts havent made it there like in FP and the Maldives. If time and money is no object, from your list the Seychelles as I have not been there. But if time and money is a consideration, I would be looking at cost and ease of travel as my first priority. | 1
