From Pacific islands to China/Korea/Japan?

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea

Hi everyone,

I'll probably visit some of the Pacific islands this summer (haven't decided yet which ones) and would afterwards go to North Korea for the mass games (leaving from Beijing) in September and combine this with South Korea and Japan.

Does anybody have any smart ideas from which Pacific island(s) it would be easy/cheap to fly one way to Beijing, Seoul or anywhere in Japan?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Micronesia, notably Guam Saipan and Palau have the most connections up that way, though you coul also fly from Fiji to Hong Kong with Air Pacific.
Aircalin used to fly from New Caledonia to Japan, too - check if it still does, if interested.

Thank you Laszlo, that is very helpful!

In addition to Laszlo's suggestions:

Korean Air flies from Fiji to Seoul.
Air Tahiti Nui flies from Papeete (French Polynesia) to Tokyo

and would afterwards go to North Korea for the mass games (leaving from Beijing)

I still can't get past this part. You don't find many travelers with North Korea plans.
