National IRELAND (REPUBLIC OF) (IE)

Destination PAPUA NEW GUINEA (PG)

Passport (valid at least 6 months on arrival) required.

Visa required, which can be obtained on arrival for a touristic
or business stay of max. 60 days in any 12 months at:
- Jackson's Int. Airport; or
- Daru; or
- Kagamuga Airport, Mt Hagen
Fee: PGK 100.- for tourist visa and PGK 500.- for business

If entering at any other port of entry, an "uplift letter"

However, it is recommended to obtain visa prior to arrival.

So in short, you should be able to get a visa on arrival, BUT you must have an onward ticket.
This is unfortunately a standard requirement for all South Pacific countries, and a pain if you plan to leave overland.
