Getting from Waya to Plantation Island

We're intending to stay at Octopus Resort for the first week of our stay in Fiji before moving on to Plantation Island (in the Mamanuca Group). Octopus Resort run a boat service that returns to the mainland between 3.30 and 4.30pm each day but can anyone please advise how reliable this is as we would need a quick turnaround in DENARAU to catch the 5pm boat to Plantation Island?

Alternatively does anyone know of a cheap option for getting direct from Octopus Resort to Plantation Island? From what I can see Yasawa Flyer does not offer this service.

Arrival time at Lautoka on the Octopus boat not really reliable - a lot depends on sea conditions, & by the time you organised taxi/van to get you to Denerau you would need to allow more than an hour to get there. Maybe someone would know if you could organise a water taxi between Beachcomber & Plantation - then you could get the Yasawa Flyer to drop you at Beachcomber.
