Getting Married in Raro

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea

Hey everyone out there,

Me and my fiancee have decided we want to get married in raro. We will be coming from NZ so hopefully the wedding will be more beautiful, cheaper and a lot less stressfull than in NZ.

I have a couple of questions.

Is Jan/Feb or March a good time to holiday in the islands. I know its summer so pretty hot. Will it be too uncomfortable?

Also are there any resorts or accomodation providers that we could have all our guests at? We will probably be looking at 50 people.

We will prob be there for 10 days so will need 3 days before the wedding at least and then a week holiday with our friends. What islands are good to stay or do daytrips at?

Any advice would be much appreciated!!

:)

Ye, it will be hot, but the main problem is that it will be very humid (Dec to March in particular). If you are not used to humidity, definitely get a place with air-con. Costs more, but worth it.

Not many places can handle 50 guests. Just the Rarotonga and Edgewater, Pacific Resort, maybe Muri Beach Club Resort.

What I'd suggest is that you two stay at Sokala Villas at Muri Beach, Sarina can plan the whole wedding for you.

Have the others stay at any of the other dozen or so places at Muri Beach, which are all within a ten-minute walk of Sokala. Lots of options by price, etc, so they can each choose what fits their budget, etc.

You can do a day trip to Aitutaki. Others inclined to go along can do it with you, or on their own.

Check the main website www.ck for more info on all of the above.

Have fun!
