Help me figure out the way to travel this route the cheapest

Hey LP,

I have tried Kiwi, several RTW offering companies, and the route I want to travel comes out crazy expensive.

Would there be a way to make it cheaper? Some kind of airpasses I don't know about or some other way?

Route I want to travel: Helsinki - Palau - Yap - Chuuk - Pohnpei - Sorong - Helsinki.

About 3500€ with Kiwi. More with the RTWs.

Is there any way around this massive price? Because for two persons that would mean flights only would be 7000€, let alone accommodations, food, etc.

I am researching something similar now for a trip I plan next year. So far every thing about Micronesia is expensive. The flights are only available on United and only available on specific days. They go different directions on different days and you will have to go through Guam and Honolulu.

I don't know how much research you have done but I have found that I sometimes get more information by going to the airport home pages to see what airlines are flying in and out and if they include the routes I am interested in. This way you get to see some of the smaller airlines that don't show up on the bigger sites. I also have found that the wiki pages for the airports will note what airlines fly in and out (sometimes hard to find that on the airport site - or even a site for the airport if it is really small). Palau now has flights from a number of Asian countries and you may be able to connect from Helsinki to Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, etc. Getting back from Sorong to Helsinki you will have to connect though Jakarta - there are a couple of small airlines that do that route. Doing the Miconesian stops will be harder - you may just have to go with United and linking any of those with Sorong may not be feasible.
