Help me pick a place!

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea

I couldn't find a general worldwide subforum, so I'm going to post this in all the forums of the places I'm interested in:

I am going to be taking a 3 week vacation in December and am having trouble selecting a place. Here is what I am looking for:
- I prefer places with nature/scenic rather than industrial cities (I got bored in London walking around the shopping districts every day, for example)
- I am not huge on swimming, I like beaches, but more to just sit and relax on them. I'm also not huge on "hiking". I don't know the word for my favorite landscapes but they are things like rolling hills, the hillstations in India, tea plantations, I lovee deserts, lush greenery, forests, harsh backdrops (like Ladakh) .... is there a name for this type of landscape? Because people always only talk about two things - beaches and hiking
- I love dry heat but hate humidity, and I don't want to go someplace too cold (below 50-60F)
- I want to go someplace with a good party scene. Not casual bars but more like an electronic/rave culture. This is kind of important because it's going to be the last vacation I can take while I'm young so I want to make the most of it. So scenic + party is like the ideal combo
- Someplace where there are a lot of young backpackers, not a place with mostly couples and families (like how Hawaii is)

I know it will be hard to get a place with all of these things, so I have to look at my options and find one that can give me as close to them as possible

Thanks so much

If you don't like humidity then the South Pacific isn't really the place for you. But Fiji might work, there are party resort places (I doubt they're in the rave scene, but as I avoid congregations of tourists/backpackers/party-goers I don't know where these places/islands are, but others on this board will). Have fun wherever you choose to go.

Iceland sounds more your kind of place......just bundle up to keep warm.
