Help needed!Vanuatu,Western Samoa,New Caledonia or Solomon Islands!

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea

hi everybody!

i have to decide which of the following islands(only one) i add to my rtw ticket-Vanuatu,Western Samoa,New Caledonia or Solomon Islands!

does anybody know which of them is the cheapest because we are travelling on a budget and has the best diving/snorkelling? any other arguments for one of these islands?

thanks a lot and have a good day

mario

Frstly, all of these countries comprise many islands, not just one. New Caledonia would be the most expensive. Solomon Islands is reputed to have the best diving.
The biggest question is, what time of year are you planning to be there? Most of these countries can be difficult to travel around in December/January due to summer holidays.

Should be Ok in any of those places at that time of year. For Solomon Islands, check Visit Solomons the official tourist bureau website.

I've been to all the islands but Solomon. Vanuatu and New Caledonia are very expensive. I recomed you to visit Western Samoa. It's a magic place and one of the best places where I've been snorkelling. While I was in Samoa I slept on Fao Fao Beach Fale on Saleapaga Beach. I had a hut for me just for 25€ (3 meals included), the beach was perfect and the fale was on the shore. I would never forget the sunrises, sunsets from my hut , and the sound of the waves breaking in to the reefs...it's the perfect place to relax.

Here you have some photos I took:
