Hiva Oa

Greetings,

I am travelling to the Marquesas this October and I was wondering if anyone had any advice for cheap accommodation on Hiva Oa. Ideally Camping, or if anyone knows of a friendly local where you can stay in a room?

Hey Chris,
it's been a while,I've been there in 2007.I was staying at a local family's house.They had two guest rooms in the basement on the hill above Atuona.The problem is that I don't remember names or the like.I got the contact via another bungalow venue that I called.They send their guest there when full.I remember they were not in the LP.I have the name KAMAKEA and the number 917131 written on the Hiva Oa LP page and I'm pretty sure it's the name and number of the lady I called.She arranged it for me.

Not much ,I'm sorry,but maybe helps to figure it out.
In general,I was camping on every other island I visited in FP.You should always be able to find a local family to pitch your tent in their garden.
