Holiday in Fiji in July with teenage malesCountry forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea
Can you please advise if it is worthwhile going to Fiji in July for about 8 nts in the school holidays. We have a 13 yo son who is very active and we are taking his cousin who is 17.(total of 4 of us) We were thinking of staying at Pacific Harbour or on Beqa Island (Coral coast) but don't know if there is enough for them to do. Is this a good place to go or can you recommend somewhere else that is not too expensive? Also if you know about diving, can you let me know if this is good around Beqa? thanks Sue
Pacific Harbour is the center for several great activities. I have done the 1-day rafting trips on both the Upper Navua River and the 'Luva River. I especially recommend the Upper Navua trip (beautiful scenery in a very narrow canyon) done by Rivers Fiji. The trip on the 'Luva River includes an authentic village tour and a trip on the river using 1-person inflatable kayaks - with Class II rapids. Although I didn't do the zip line tour in Pacific Harbour, I have heard good things about it. There is also diving in the area - including an adventous shark dive. I understand Aqua Trek is a reliable company. For lodging you might check out The Uprising Beach Resort. I hope this helps, George | 1
Thanks George...I will definitely check this out. Thanks for the info. Sue | 2
